It appears to me that the debate has actually reached a stage
where the flames are set aside, a neutral ground is found, and that
topics beyond the usual postures are beginning to be tentatively
explored. I feel that the discussion should continue. A premature stop at
this time will, in my opinion lead to one of two outcomes: a) the topic
will flare up again sooner or later with flames, or b) the participants
become so gun-shy that they will not explore it beyond the current stage.
Both outcomes, in my opinion, are undesirable.
This is not the first time a 'moratorium' is declared on this
forum. I thought it was a bad idea in the past. I still think it is a bad
idea.
