THIS IS NEITHER DESIRABLE, NOR SUFFICIENT.
Why?
Beacuse,
Such requests to join the group, exit from the group,
get a list of members of the group, and a host of other
miscellaneous things are handled by a LISTSERVE at the
University of Wisconsin, famous for being the current
abode of Ratnakar Sonthi, who set-up the group, and
takes care of some routine, incidental housekeeping
chores.
For these kinds of services (entry, exit,...) you need to
send the request to:
not, repeat, NOT to telusa@cs.wisc.edu
When you send a "unsubscribe" request to the group instead
of the listserve, all you are doing is "broadcasting" your
intention to leave the group, to all the members of the
group. Which is neither desirable, nor sufficient. Of course,
when looking at such a mail, one of us would/could initiate
the necessary action, by relaying the request to LISTPROC@....
