Please accept my humble apologies for writing very very late. I was away=
for 25
days on leave to participate in some social service activities going on =
around
our Chinmayaranyam ashram (AP), hence, did not participate in TELUSA
discussions.

I have read Ms. Aravinda's message also. I did not understand (honestly=
)
whether it is a "chalOkti" or she is serious when she is telling that "on=
e does need
a paper and a pen available to note down when a thought arises".
In my Opinion, what ever thought it is.. that which does not stay in our=
memory
permanently is not really worth to note down. Why! because if at all =
you can't
remember what your thought was, in your psyche you are really not intere=
sted in
knowing it... So, just let it go, it will never come back. Human brain =
can
remember each and every aspect of the life. If we want we can erase, if =
we want
we can retain, hence, it is in our hands (I shall stop here this philosop=
hy).
In the above paragraph I was trying to tell the capacity of "dhAraNa"
(memorising) Sri Medasani Mohan garu memorised more than 40,000 slokas. =
If
he tells one ASu padya (ASu is nothing but "spontanious poem") he never =
forgets it.
We are betraying our intellect, the great Super human computer that is =
our brain.
What a gift given to the mankind! by using paper, pen, computer etc.. =
we are
making ourselves dependent on these things. We have reached to such an =
extreme that if we get a thought we immediatly search for a paper and =
pen,
because, we are affraid that we may forget that beautiful thought! I am =
not
denying the use of paper and pen, just, thinking... can't I remember... =
some
poems.. a beautiful thought which arose in my mind a few days back,...
It is the "Dharana" power which Sri potana and others utilised. I heard =
that Sri
potana while ploughing the agriculture land or doing some other work use =
to think
of the Poems for Bhagawatam. In the evenings he sits and writes what eve=
r he
memorised during the course of the day.

:-) me too... a nice explanation :-)
Sir, please permit me to give one more explanation! Sage Durvasa gave =
the
mantra to "kunti" only, while giving he said "the children conceived by =
this mantra
will be called as kuntee sutas, not by the name of their fathers (gods)".=
That is
why, though dharmaraja is the son of Lord Yama, they call him as PaMDu =
naMdana and kuMtee suta agraja. Because of the sage's words madri sutas =
are called as kuntee sutas.

Madhava
