very interesting aphorism indeed. i read a telugu translation of it in
a story long time ago (didn't know it was a translation then). here is
a small query on this aphorism. (may be I should succumb to Jampala
gaari temptations and buy that souvenir :-) is there a connotation
of fault finding in the meaning? i am asking this because Ramakrishna
gaaru likened it to "pot calling the kettle black" and "people living
in glass houses shouldn't throw stones at others" - both of which
mean you shouldn't find fault in others when you have much to hide
yourself. this is just a guess but this kambaLa bhOjana nyAyam means
you shouldn't worry about small things when there is so much else
out of order. in my opinion, only the simplest (very few) sayings
can be translated between telugu and english ( I admit i am making
this statement without much thought).
to people who are interested in these things, here is a question:
there is a chinese saying: "ivory doesn't grow in a dog's mouth". now
is there a telugu or english equivalent for this? I thought over it
for a long time, without answer.
