Dear sir/madam,
        
     I am pursuing my research studies for my M.Phil degree in sociology 
     at the University of Hyderabad on the theme: THE TELUGU DIASPORA IN 
     THE UNITED STATES: with Prof.C.S.BHAT as my research guide.

     The word 'diaspora' has its origin from the Jewish context of 
     emigration or settlement abroad, away from their homeland, but 
     still finding roots in the 'motherland', maintain their culture
     with the hope of returning one fine day.

     The proposed research is being carried under the auspices of the
     Dept. of Sociology and the CENTRE FOR THE STUDY OF INDIAN 
     DIASPORA, sponsored by the U.G.C. The centre is working on various
     aspects related to the Indian Diaspora (Indians Abroad). This 
     research is expected to gain much publicity in view of the 
     current linkages between India and Indian Diaspora.

     May I take a bit of your time and request you to kindly express
your
     views and provide information sought below. The expressed views
shall 
     be processed for the above research and in NO case would be made
avail-
     able to anyone without prior consent from you.
