Are there more Vol.s?
> BTW, Does anyone know of a place where we can buy gramophone records.
I guess you are asking for 78rpms (=maTTi rekaarDulu). Or are you looking
for those E. Ps and L. Ps (so called Vinyls)? I think in India they almost
stopped pressing Vinyls now a days. The master recordings of those L. Ps are
used now for CDs. As far Hindi film songs are concerned almost every film
track that came out as L. P is now available as CD. There are not all too
many L. Ps in Telugu. Perhaps we can list those available LPs one day. EPs
started replacing 78rpms in late 60s. Are there any 2nd hand shops in entire
A. P dealing with EPs and LPs? I have n't come across any. The only one I saw
was in Madras.
And now where do we get the 78rpms? aTakala paina (=attics), bhOshaaNaallOnoo
(those big trunk boxes), okaanokappuDu mee vooLLO maiku seTlu adde kicchina
manishi daggara (with those mike system suppliers), etc. I am not joking! Or
on a good day you may find some one selling the discs on the road side for
a few Rupees. My personal experience says that here you need a lot of
patience, and luck. (Hitherto) My experience says that those who have them
consider it as prized possessions and are not at all willing to share the
information. 3 year net experience taught me a lot. Its always one way
traffic. You know what I mean. The word "dissemination of culture" seems to
be not there in many Telugus' dictionary. Oh, there I go again. For the 2nd
time today, complaining. Let me end here!
And those In Madras and Bangalore there used to be record sellers in the
rly. station area. Are there any in Hyderabad?
