Q) What is the basic functionality of Megha Sandesam?

Megha Sandesam is a e-mail tool that can be used to
to read/send e-mails in telugu and english. 

Q) How do i open Megha Sandesam?

at the MS-DOS shell prompt, type

java LaunchMeghaSandesam 


Q)How do i set up Megha Sandesam to read my telugu e-mails?

Edit Preferences and indicate your incoming mail folder.
MeghaSandesam will open this default folder everytime it is
invoked.

Another way is to select "Open Mail Folder..."  in the File Menu
and then identifying your mail folder. 

if you are using Netscape messanger or some other e-mail editor
that has filtering capabilities, set up a filter such that all 
your telugu mail (say, from telusa) is forwarded to the above
mentioned default folder.

Q)How do i set up MeghaSandesam to start sending mails?

click on Preferences... in Edit menu and fill details.
it is one of those things you need to do just once in a life-time!
if u do not know what to fill in for SMTP server name or your user name
on it, ask your system administrator OR check for the same in your 
existing mail reader like Netscape Messanger. In Netscape, see
Preferences.

Q)How do i read a particular mail?

click on the mail descriptor in the mail list.

Q)can i make the mails come up with english as the default?

yes, in the Language menu, set the default language for reading files 
as english. 

Q)how come i can edit the mail message i received?

well, don't worry, you are not destroying your mail messages.
you can edit the appearance of the mail message in order to make it 
more readble, e.g. correcting transliteration mistakes, converting
some words from telugu to english or vice-versa. however, none of these
changes are incorporated into the original mail. you can save the modified
version in a different file, though, if you wish so.

Q)How do i delete a message from the mail folder?

select that message and use "delete selected message" in the
Edit menu.

 
Q)How can i send a mail?

Type the message in the edit window and click on Mail... in the
File Menu.

Q)How can I reply to a mail?

Prepare your reply by editing the original mail and then click on
Mail in reply... in the File Menu.
