(Rangavalli 1.2 and MeghaSandesam 1.1)
Rangavalli is a WYSIWYG(What You See Is What You Get) Transliteration
Tool for Telugu. Megha Sandesam is a simple e-mailer built on top of Rangavalli.
The Transliteration Scheme used is RTS
(Rice Transliteration Scheme) with the following differences.
-
sunna can only be obtained with M e.g. gAMdhi would work, gAndhi wouldn't.
-
As unicode treats ksha as k with sha vottu, x is no longer considered as
ksh
-
No telugu digits.
Disclaimer:
Rangavalli comes with no warranty and is free for non-commercial uses only.
ALL EXPRESS OR IMPLIED REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES ARE HEREBY EXCLUDED.
Install at your own risk.
Warnings:
-
Rangavalli does not check for viruses when retrieving documents from the
web. Rogue programs may damage your files, when downloaded from the web.
Hence, exercise extreme caution when using these capabilities of Rangavalli.
-
If you make a Typical installation or a Custom installation with JRE Files
included, the installer will overwrite your Windows registry entries for
JRE. This is not a big deal unless you have other programs on your machine
that require a JRE version > 1.1.6. It is a good idea to back up your windows
registry before you use this installer.
-
Also, Rangavalli's JRE font settings can interfere with those of other
programs that use Java. Two shortcuts are provided for you to toggle between
the font settings needed for Rangavalli and those used by your other programs.
These can be found in the "Programs/Rangavalli" folder of your "Start"
menu. Here is what these shortcuts do for you.
-
Setup Java Fonts for Rangavalli: This program backups your existing
font settings and replaces them with those needed for Rangavalli.
-
Restore Default Java Font Settings: This resets your font settings
to those required for other programs.
